Immediatlly force a reboot into Recovery Yes I know its factory, Dan is workiing hard on repairing the CWM and Custom Kernel for this. Wipe Data/Factory reset Wipe Cache Reboot === Heimdall 1.3 works differently from previous versions. Follow these steps: Unzip the .zip file you downloaded from the Android Door. Plug in your SGT and reboot to download mode. Start the Heimdall 1.3 frontend. Go to the Utilities tab and click on Save As... in the "Download PIT" section and choose a location and filename for your PIT file, then click Download and wait for it to finish. Now go to the Flash tab and click Browse near the top and load the PIT file you just saved. Now under "Partitions (Files)" click on Add and then in the Partition Name drop-down to the left choose "FACTORYFS," then click on Browse below that and choose factoryfs.rfs from the zip file. Repeat this (clicking on Add each time) for KERNEL (zImage), PARAM (param.lfs), CACHE (cache.rfs), DBDATAFS (dbdata.rfs), and RECOVERY (recovery.bin). Now you should have six entries under Partitions (Files). Click on them each in turn to double-check and make sure you have the right file loaded for each. Click on Start and your device will be flashed and reboot. Follow oldmacnut's directions from there. It sounds complicated but it's not bad once you see what's going on. It worked great for me (and so does the rom!). The idea for the changes is that now rom developers can use Heimdall to build a package file that can be loaded and flashed by anyone with just two or three clicks without having to manually choose FactoryFS, Cache, etc. I hope it catches on (hint, hint oldmacnerd ) You can even use the Create Package tab to save your own custom packages if you find yourself flashing the same set of files over and over again. === Link to Sprint rooted Gingerbread (thanks to Zhangqip): http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1161033 Instructions (Thanks to Wolfie083188) on how to install on a VZW tab: how to get this to work on the VZW tab if you plan to use wifi only as myself. this is what i did. you will need heimdall, you should know where to find it. heres how to do it, FOLLOW STEP BY STEP, im not responsible if you bork your tab. 1. download the file 2. extract to a folder named: gingerbread. 3. extract the pda file. 4. you should now have a zimage, and a factoryfs file. 5. open up heimdall frontend 6. place factoryfs.rfs in the Factoryfs section 7. place zimage in the kernel section 8. place zimage in the recovery section 9. click start. 10. after flash is completed, tab will restart but loop on second samsung animation. 11. hold power + vol+ untill tab turns off, when the tab turns on, let go of ONLY the power button and continue to hold the vol+ button until the recovery menu opens up. 12. wipe user data and cache 13. restart tab. you should now have working gingerbread on your VZW tab. === To tack on a data package you have to bypass the activation screen so you can use your device with Wi-Fi only.
